Lord of the Flies by William Golding Book

The story starts with a plane crash in which a group of British schoolboys and adults landed on an isolated Island in the Pacific Ocean. All the adults, including pilots, died; only young boys survived. Now, we are introduced to the main character of the novel, the protagonist of this novel, Rafel, and his trustworthy friend, Piggy.

Ralph is the first survivor shown on the island. He is 12 years old and is strong physically. When he was moving aimlessly around the island, he saw a fat boy with spectacles, and his name was Piggy. Ralph asked the boy for his name, and he said that his nickname was Piggy. He laughed a little, and without uttering a single word, he moved on. Piggy tried to follow him but couldn't match his pace because he had an asthma problem. Then Piggy asked his name, and he said, Ralph.

Near the seashore, they found a conch shell. Ralph blows the shell because Of the sound of all the other boys' problems there. They are all around 6 to 12 years old. They decided to choose the leader who guided them. So, they choose Ralph as a leader and Jack as the leader of the group of hunters. After that, Ralph, Jack, and another boy named Simon explore the island and find out about wild pigs.

In the second gathering, they set up rules in order to govern themselves. They decided that if someone had to say something in the assembly, he had to hold the conch. A young person from the group claims that he saw a beast, but Ralph dismisses him by saying it was just his imagination, nothing more. Ralph suggests they signal with fire at the top of a mountain in order to get help from any passing ships.

So they decided to do as Ralph suggested, but during the fire lighting, a boy disappeared who saw the beast and never seemed anywhere.

As time passes, tension arises in Ralph's mind as no one helps him build shelter. Ralph is frustrated because all the boys are doing nothing but goofing off, while Jack always finds ways to mock Piggy because he is intelligent but has a weak body. Jack was obsessed with hunting. So he forced other boys to go with him to hunt. Meanwhile, Simon goes to a forest to find prey. While hunting, the ship passed near the island, but they missed because the flames were flourishing, and no one was there to look after the fire. Jack and his group hunt their first pig, but they miss the chance to rescue themselves, which starts the rivalry between Jack and Ralph. They got into an argument.

So, Ralph calls the assembly again to get things into place. They saw something vividly falling on the mountain's top. They climbed the dark mountain to claim their bravery, but they fell mid-way. The next day, Again, Jack claims its authority and challenges him, but losses from Ralph. Then, Jack leaves the group with his tribe. Jack's tribe hunts the wild pigs and leaves his head as an offering to the beast.

They paint their faces and do rituals. Simon witnessed that the head Jack's tribe was offering to the beast was full of flies harboring over there. Jack invites everyone to the feast while Simon goes to a mountain to find the truth behind the mysterious beast; he lost his life and the tribe in order to find the truth about the beast as they thought Simon was the beast.

After that, they move to the rockfort and steal Piggy's glass to make fire. Ralph and his friend Piggy, with twins, go to get the glass back, but the twins are captured. One of the members of the tribe, named Roger, rolls down a big stone, which smashes the shell and kills Piggy.

After that, they set Ralph as a target to kill. They set fire to the forest and surround Ralph in the same spot; where on the first day, they all gather on an island after the plane crash and set up their society.

The burning forest attracts the attention of a naval ship, and the officer gets down to the shore. The boys stop and stare at the man with a stern gaze and with a stunned look. The officer inquired about the incident. Ralph told him the whole story. The officer was shocked and ashamed by the behavior of the boys. Soon, Ralph started to cry, and so did others. The officer was uncomfortable and looked away towards his warship.
